  1. Mittagspause x Reasonably Unhinged: Happy-Go-Lucky (2008)
Anna joins us for the first time to discuss this little wonder of a film. We marvel at the humanist cinema of British director legend Mike Leigh. In his 2008 comedy Happy-Go-Lucky he gives center stage to the unique talent of Sally Hawkins. Her character Poppy, the enthusiastic, optimistic primary school teacher from London, is the root from which this beautiful movie grows and develops.
The director’s approach of creating characters before story works perfectly with the star performance of Sally Hawkins. Her bubbly, ever-cheery energy marks an amazing tightrope performance and we cheer her on her journey all way.

  4. The Reasonably Unhinged crew is growing once again. Our newest addition Paul joins in on the discussion about Lost in America, Albert Brooks’ send-up of baby boomer yuppie fantasies of breaking out of your job and enjoying the freedoms of the US, Easy Rider style. The crew exchange their opinions on the couple’s journey across America and marvel in the sharply written outbursts of Al Brooks’ character as well as the many different incredible performances by non-actors they meet along the way.
Hop on the Winnebago and let’s book it down the highway. Find out if you are a Born to be Wild or a New York, New York kind of person.
