We start the day with your personal status and problems in terms of “audio” so that I can address you directly in the workshop.
Then we go out of the studio and into the “field” with a playful exercise in perception, audio, text and immediacy. You build a small scene. Together we find out what kind of stories these sounds and scenes tell us, what images emerge how diverse these can be perceived.
And based on this sound work or one you brought with you, we will talk about the technical basics:
What is a good microphone recording? And how can we treat a recording well, edit it well or even improve it? What is a compressor, a limiter, an EQ, a delay, a reverb? And how can this be put to good use? What is an acoustic space, what is stereo? What is a good text for the radio? How do we speak there? How do we create tension? How does auditory perception work and what does that mean for our radio production? So we deal with genre-independent radio and audio questions.
Please bring: laptop with editing program, headphones, recording device (and everything you need to transfer the recording to your computer), possibly a sound work for which you need support and which we will work on directly in the workshop.
We start at 10 a.m. and end around 4 p.m. With registration only via mail to ctw2022@radioblau.de

Antje Meichsner is an artist and works primarily with sound, but also with text, film, digital graphics and conceptually. She has been doing radio since 2002 (Pirate Radio Outaspace and coloRadio in Dresden). In 2021, her audio play “Genauso bloß anders” was released on Deutschlandradio Kultur.
This is an event from the project “Resonanzraum – creating continuities”, with which we want to create an error-friendly and empowering learning space for FLINTA (women, lesbians, trans, inter, non-binary and agender people). This workshop is therefore aimed exclusively at the group of people mentioned.
