EP 02 – A Special Kind Of Funk
Let’s get cheaky and groovy with Ohio, Chicago and more. I’ll let you in on a couple of unique observations in relation to DJing with vinyl, it implies a tongue and no paper!! I will play a track from a mystery figure who only released this one track (atleast under this moniker) Perhaps you know who they are..!? We catch up with some Inner City vibes and a classic track that inspired the house music scene enormously. Come open your ears to new musical horizons. This episodes running theme is water!

I’m on a Danish island called Samsø, known for it’s green energy solutions. We start out with some energizing garage inspired house and I recite a Julie London tune. The fog is cleaing up and at night behold the milky way above. I present a special bootleg mash-up of icelandic magic and italian elegance from the 80s. We get around. Ending this episode with some brand new minimal smartness from the UK. Stick around the island shores. The waves are healing.

Get your sub ON. We’re about to go wobbly deep. The lowest frequencies, that heavy rolling kick that makes your hips move. The lower freq spectrum that your body automatically responds to, by moving and grooving, can’t stand still. A train that keeps going, taking us across the continents to see new horizons. My first guest is visiting the pod. She has a hefty long DJ career, travellig around the world making the dancefloors bounce in the dark. She also founded Female:Pressure, an online platform that suddenly spiked in new members after Björk mentioned it in an interview. I’m obviously talking about the gentle and generous Electric Indigo, who in the 90s worked at Hardwax, the legendary record store in Berlin. We talk about her preferred DJ tools and she tucks in an anecdote, before playing her chosen track. Welcome!
