Writes Robinson, “BLACKBODY, WHITE NOISE is an experimental radio art composition. For an entire week, while in residence at Wave Farm, I collected sounds using two vacant cast iron cubes and sound reproduction technology. Each structure bore a single hole (a Blackbody) allowing sunlight to penetrate and radiate throughout the interior space. During the course of the residency I recorded thermal conduction, movement, and ambience. I manipulated the collected data to compose a sonic relationship with excerpts from La’Vender Freddy’s Sunscreen Conspiracy project. The title Blackbody, White Noise is inspired by Frantz Fanon’s highly acclaimed literary work, Black Skin, White Mask. This project set out to reveal and translate a relationship between the light of the Sun and the struggle against forces determined to control it. The resulting meditation articulates a historical conflict, thereby leaving the listener to reimagine a new future inspired by a new solar narrative.” #871 und #872

Have you, in the last few months, experienced bumps in the night? Strange sounds that seem to come out of the aether? Glowing orbs of light in midnight kitchens? Do you feel that everything may be collapsing around you, and the fragile veil between this world and the next may just be tearing at the seams? Ergo Phizmiz, Depresstival and their extremely angry guinea-pigs, take the plunge into the spooky netherworld of high-budget historical figure musical theatre, in a ghost story for Christmas that will leave you wanting to wear exclusively pink and hanging out with small, furry, cute animals.
Night Construction is an improvised acoustic image that went on air in the night. Acoustic atmosphere that was made with physical things in the studio (accordion, paper, books, autumn leaves, xylophone, pipe, marbles, glass, fruit,…) was inspired by texts of known (Danilo Harms, Dostojevski) and unknown authors or participants. Construction material was on air dematerialised and transformed into a sonic landscape.

The programme for this half-hour broadcast consists of Winter [21m53s] and Volute [6m20s]. The first piece was recorded during a blizzard as I sat inside a warm recording studio in Stoney Creek. I watched the snow come down for hours through the big windows while I programmed the Nord Electro all day. The second piece is an electric meditation of resonating fields and buzzing wires that was recorded in my apartment at the Victory Building in Hamilton. It was among my first forays into recording static, magnetic noise, and other such sources as sound material. I hope that these pieces from 20 years ago provide a unique listening experience.
Constantine Katsiris has been a composer of experimental electronic music for nearly three decades. More on radia.fm

Radia FM…Part One: Malgrado col tempo si sfaldi is a composition born from Stefano De Ponti’s notebooks and from the research materials and intuitions gathered during his field investigations at the Nardini sandstone quarry in Vellano, Tuscany. It brings together and organizes a wide range of thoughts and sketches, by aiming to value the craft and relational aspects of the process that unfolded between the quarry environment, Nub Project Space in Pistoia and the Tempo Reale research centre in Florence.
Part Two: Formed in Autumn 2020 RADIOM(e) is a network of radio artists from the Greater Region which is comprised of Luxembourg and the surrounding regions of France, Belgium and Germany. Throughout 2021 the artists from the network sent each other audio postcards from their local area and beyond. Their radio post was revisited by Natalie Rubchenko for this Radia episode.
