Statement from our awareness crew

In June, Radio Blau received several complaints from listeners about a programme announcement that was shown on our website for a short time. The issue was also discussed at our last general meeting. Read the statement of our awareness crew about this here. (more…)

Your radio show at Claim The Waves!

The feminist radio festival Claim the Waves, organised by Radio Blau from 8 – 11 September 2022, will be accompanied by a 72-hour special programme. And you can be part of it! Whether it’s a feature, garage and/or kitchen talk, feminist music show, DJ set or podcast episode: send us your audio content to ctw-redaktion@community-media.net and become part of the Claim The Waves radio programme! Please make sure your entries are not longer than 60 minutes (filling it with music is fine) and that there is only music in the last 1,5 minutes of your radio show. You want to create a radio show but are not quite sure how to start? Feel free to contact your favourite community radio station or come to the Claim The Waves festival!

Project “Open access and yet diverse – Associations for everyone”

Open access, so that everyone can participate, is very important to us at Radio Blau. Diversity is another important value to us. And we really are varied bunch. We are not only the young hipsters, instead, you can hear people of all ages and from all different subcultural scenes behind our microphones.
Nevertheless, during the past 2 years we have noticed: that does not automatically mean that all broadcasters follow the current debates about diversity. Not everyone knows what abbreviations like FINTA, LGBTQI+ or BiPoC mean. Our general assemblies can’t always agree on what constitues discrimination and whats doesn’t. And open access does not automatically mean that our Verein is home to the same number of women*, refugees or people with disabilities as there are in the general population of Leipzig.
Therefore we are starting the project “Open to access and yet diverse – associations for everyone” to find ways to bring all of this together. (more…)
