“Listen…!”

Our project series “Listen…” is entering a new round! In two live broadcasts from places where refugees can meet and receive counselling, we want to let the voices and opinions of those affected have their say. The programme on 28.11. is about the work of a self-organised asylum advice centre Space and the typical issues there. The programme on 4 December from Mühlstraße e.V. is about the current portrayal of migrants in the media and how those who are being talked about are doing and how they feel about it. The elaborate preparation and realisation of these live discussion rounds is funded by the Saxon State Media Authority.

We are setting up a new refugee editorial team. We have been able to hire a wonderful new member of staff for this, Alena. She will be inviting you to a first open meeting in our radio studios very soon. She can also support refugees in making radio programmes. You can reach her at interkultur@radioblau.de in English, Arabic and German.

Radio Blau and Mühlstraße 14 e.V. are cooperating in the coming weeks as part of the project “Unterwegs und angekommen”. We will visit the Monday meeting place in Mühlstraße regularly to show the visitors of the open drop-in centre how easy it is to make their own radio programme. Under the motto “Your voice is heard”, the first recordings are made and then broadcast on the Radio Blau programme. In this way, new topics that people with and without migration biographies find important are put on the air. The next dates for “gemeinsam montags” in the socio-cultural centre in Reudnitz are 15.05. and 12.06., both at 16.30pm. On 23.05. we will also report on the exhibition project “BRÜCHE”. This will be followed by an intensive workshop at Radio Blau in July.
